"You want to scrap a what?"

A desk. That's right a desk!

So here's how it happened:

While reading one of my favourite scrapbooking magazines, Scrapbooking Memories I came across a Super Size Off The Page competition. After a few days I decided I would scrap a desk for my eldest daughters room. This was one of those projects that crept out of my scrapbooking room and soon took over the house. With bits and pieces everywhere everyone was wanting to see it all come together. After many long days and nights it was finished, photos taken and in the post.

Then the worst part of the entry process was upon me.
The waiting...........................................................................
Did they get the pictures? Was it too Super Sized? Was it too much? Aaah!

Then the call came and I was ecstatic. "Could I bring it along to the exhibition in Brisbane?"
" Ah, yes???". Then I had to let hubby know the good news and the catch."Honey? I won but.........we need to get the desk to Brisbane" No probs, on the phone to Poppy for a lend of his van, packing material for the glass top, some tie downs and we're set.
We even made it a bit of a weekend away from the kids. Hubby would walk me to the exhibition each day and meet me after. I was free to check out all the new stuff, design ideas and attend the classes all day. After we would find a nice quiet restaurant for a relaxing dinner. Mind you it was a bit hard to relax with all the excitement of the day, people complementing my work and imagining just what I was going to scrap next.

I just have to thank all the wonderful people from Scrapbooking Memories for their help and support throughout the weekend it was just such a memorable time for me.
The top of the desk was scrapped and covered in a sheet of glass.
I attached a whiteboard to the back of the desk and made magnetic Kaiser letters and markers that can attach to it.

I continued the theme lining the inside of the draws with some nice papers.

This desk still takes pride of place in my daughters room and gets used everyday, and she loves it!
