Genie in a Camera

This camera was part of a competition entry and was to be a mini album about myself. I decided that a look-a-like camera containing pictures of me on a film strip would be perfect as I love to take heaps of photos then scrap them.
I roped my husband into making the outside of the camera with wood then painted it. I took some photos of my actual camera and then cut out the buttons etc and glued them on so it looked a bit more like a camera. Finally I stuck on a genuine canon lens cap for the lens to finish it off.
I then went to my local photo shop and asked them to develop a blank role of film but not cut it into strips. I then added some mini pics and details to both sides of the film strip and folded it to fit into the 'camera'. The two camera halves stay together with magnetic strips and when pulled apart the film concertinas out to reveal all the pictures. There was a lot of fiddly work but it proved to be a bit of mini scrapping fun and I was very pleased how it turned out.
